LOCAL LATINX COUNSELOR - SYLVIA POAREO
Sylvia is meeting with hundreds of families who are arriving at the evacuation headquarters and have been affected by recent fires. She is one of the only Latinx counselors in our area. Cash is needed because her clients cannot get to donation centers if they don't have gas, centers don't have specific things that they might need, many are continuing to work despite the smoke and having lost everything, and they cannot access much of the government resources (whenever that comes). Above all, she feels it is direct aid that supports autonomy and dignity.
